Gombe Chimpanzee Tracking is a beautiful and unique adventure as it is among the few places in the world where chimpanzee can be seen in their natural habitat. Till this time there are no roads established to Gombe National Park so visitors can only reach the park by boat.

Tracking Safaris take visitors deep into the forest to observe and sit with the extraordinary primates – an incredible experience and one that is the highlight of many visitors’ trips to Africa. Besides chimpanzee viewing, many other species of primates live in Gombe Stream’s tropical forests. Vervet and colobus monkeys, baboons, forest pigs and small antelopes inhabit the natural forest, in addition to a wide variety of tropical bird life.

Day 1 :

Fly Dar-es-Salaam to Kigoma Then Gombe National Park

Transfer to Dar Es Salaam airport for your scheduled flight to Kigoma 09:30 am Arrive at Kigoma airport 11:40. Pick up on arrival and transfer to Kibirizi port for your boat to Gombe (2 hours boat trip). Pick up on arrival and transfer to the camp 14h00 hot lunches at the camp. Afterwards proceed for Chimpanzee tracking in the forest. Gombe Stream’s main attraction is obviously the chimpanzee families that live protected in the park’s boundaries. Visitors take walks deep into the forest to observe and sit with the extraordinary primates for an entire morning. Apart from chimpanzee viewing, many other species of primates live in Gombe Stream’s tropical forests. Val vet and colobus monkeys, baboons, forest pigs and dik dik inhabit the dense forest and a wide variety of tropical birdlife.

Day 2 :

Chimpanzee Tracking & Return to Kigoma

Another day to start 08h30, Start Chimpanzee tracking in the forest, Gombe became well known for the conservation project started from Jane Goodall, who first arrived in Gombe on 1960. Apart from chimpanzee viewing, many other species of primates live in Gombe Stream’s tropical forests. After lunch we will be heading back to the national park entrance, where our boat will be waiting for transfer back to Kigoma. Once arrived in Kigoma, you can take an afternoon flight back to Dar es salaam or spend an additional night in Kigoma before departure.
