This morning drive to Lake Manyara National Park. Set against the steep escarpment of the Rift Valley, you’ll find Lake Manyara National Park with its evergreen groundwater forest and variety of ecosystems including acacia woodland, grassy plains, a swampy fan delta, and – of course – the expansive lake. This diversity attracts a wide variety of mammal, bird, and wildlife species. Manyara is also home to rare tree-climbing lions. The park offers excellent game viewing with buffalo, impala, giraffe, bushbuck, waterbuck, hippos, and lots of elephants roam near the lake. Also look out for blue monkeys, vervet monkeys, and the very active Olive baboon troops. Lake Manyara is an absolute delight, with a huge variety of birds on display in the park. Even the novice can expect to be amazed by large flamingo flocks, circling birds of prey, and the brightly coloured lilac breasted roller.

Today’s after delicious breakfast drive takes you to the famous Serengeti National Park, home of the Great Wildebeest Migration. This exciting drive up the highlands provides a spectacular bird’s-eye view of the Ngorongoro Crater. As you crest the hillside, as far as the eyes can see, the vast expanse of the 6,900 sq. ml (18,000 sq. km) Serengeti is spread out before you. Serengeti, defined as “endless plains” in Kiswahili, is inhabited by more than two million large mammals including more than a million wildebeest, hundreds of thousands of plains zebra, and Thomson's gazelle. Large predators including lion, cheetah and hyena are drawn to the area by the abundance of prey which migrates throughout the park. Smaller animals like rock hyrax, bat eared fox, mongoose, honey badger, jackals, monkey, baboon and African hare, with nearly 500 species of bird, also inhabit the area. Lake Victoria is the world’s second largest fresh water lake and the largest in Africa. The lake is located on Kenya-Uganda-Tanzanian border with 95% of it lying In Tanzania leaving only 5% to be shared by Kenya and Uganda.

The Victoria Park is a beautiful and peaceful bush land fringed by the Lake water and lake reeve. More than 190 species of birds have been recorded in the park including the rare White Bellied Sea Eagle and the endangered Little Tern. The park also supports a large population of Eastern Grey Kangaroos and Black Wallabies. Brush-tailed Possums and Ring-tailed Possums are also common. Less common mammals include Sugar Gliders, Pygmy Possums and the endangered New Holland Mouse. The rare Large-footed Myotis is one of eleven bat species also found within the park.
